Yorkshire Guernsey could be sold

A Guernsey subidiary of a UK building society could be sold off. Yorkshire Guernsey has been in the island for twenty years and is owned by the Yorkshire Building Society. The Society recently merged with the Chelsea Building Society and now a national newspaper report suggests it could be looking to sell its offshore business.

Yorkshire Guernsey says a sell off is one possible outcome of a review that's taking place at the moment. The Managing Director of the local operation, Peter Symes said: Yorkshire Guernsey is a successful operation in its own right but as with all areas of the parent Societys business, its subject to regular reviews. As with all reviews when they are completed if any changes are to be made we would communicate the impact of these to our customers and staff, however, Yorkshire Guernsey currently remains business as usual.
