Ban on smoking outside Guernsey hospitals under review

Health chiefs are considering responses from the public on proposals to ban smoking outside Guernsey's hospitals.
Health and Social Services has been looking into the idea of banning smoking on all land managed by the department.
People were asked for their views on the idea in 2009 and were given until the end of February to send them in.
A spokesman for the department said the management had "yet to make a final decision" on the issue.
Smoking is already banned inside most Health and Social Services buildings, with a few exceptions such as residential care homes and staff accommodation. (from BBC)

I believe they are going to introduce a smoking "exclusion zone" around the PEH that will extend for 9 miles in all directions.

it wouldnt surprise me bug1 , thats they way its heading! also a new smoking room is being built at the airport,,, at the end of the runway!!

I'd love to see how they would enforce this rule.

The problem is???

draconian measures once again ..still cant see how people can be stopped from smoking in the open air...by the way i am a non smoker gave up a 50 a day habit 4 years ago....

I had to go to the hospital last week and literally had to wade through cigarette butts to get to the new main door - not a good look!!!
