Clameur family could still lose home
A Guernsey family which have been fighting to keep their house after breaking planning rules, are still in fear of losing it.
An eviction order against them has been granted even though they have now got planning permission for their property.
The problem is planning permission depends upon them carrying out certain changes to their house, which they say will cost around £30,000.
The family have been granted the maximum stay of six months before they have to leave. So if they can finish the work in that time, they'll have the full planning permission they need to add value to their property once again.
It's a catch-22 situation for the Bougourds because they say they can't afford that work and at the moment they have a valueless property which they can't borrow against.

What do you think of this situation?
Were the Bougourds right to risk everything by breaking planning laws?
Are planning laws too draconian, or are they fair?
