‘We’re not in firing line’ Empty ‘We’re not in firing line’

UK GOVERNMENT plans to target wealthy tax dodgers are not aimed at Guernsey, the chief minister has assured.

Deputy Lyndon Trott was at the Liberal Democrats conference in Liverpool, the first since they took power with the Conservatives in May.

Yesterday, Lib Dems leader Nick Clegg built on a message delivered on Sunday by Treasury Chief Secretary Danny Alexander – that people who avoid or evade paying tax would not get away with it.

‘We will be tough on welfare cheats. But unlike Labour, we’ll be tough on tax cheats too. We will crack down on the super-rich who hide away money overseas.’ said Mr Clegg.

But Deputy Trott said there was a clear understanding in the UK Government that Guernsey was a friend, not a foe, on tax. (from GEP)

Yeah right, if the Government in the UK get desperate to fill their shortfall the Islands will suffer..

And they are desperate, make no mistake! Trust them? They are no different to the previous bunch when it comes to State control. This proves it:
