Tom Scott says the States have ‘No business experience’
BUSINESSMAN Tom Scott has accused the States of wasting money and being inexperienced. He also said there was a ‘disturbing’ lack of business credentials within the new House.
‘I’ve not examined the new deputies in great depth to be honest, but as always it appears there is still a weakness there.
‘The problem is that good business people are either too busy or they become isolated and don’t serve another term like [former deputy chief minister and R. G. Falla boss] Stuart Falla. It’s happened time and time again.’
It was deeply disappointing that Deputy Falla had not stood for re-election, said Mr Scott. ‘I can understand why – it must have been a fairly lonely place. He needed another three good entrepreneurs with him in order to get things done. The States is such a diverse place, but there are a lot of people who are talking just so they have something to say. There are people who do it because it’s a living for them and then there are people like Stuart who give up their time to be a politician.’ (From Thisisguernsey)
He is right Stuart Falla is a great loss and I think that this States are lacking good experienced member's..

Re: Tom Scott says the States have ‘No business experience’
I agree GD Stuart would have been a great Chief Minister and would have been able to lead the new house for the next four years . It is a shame that in the last house there were small minded people in it who spent more time worrying about the little things like the clinical block tender than the bigger issues like sewage treatment , waste disposal education and setting up another industry to back up the FI .I hope this log actually get things done instead of going around in circles.

Well maybe if Falla hadnt f**ked up over the clinical block tender, things might have been a lot different, none of this backbiting and bickering would have been as bad as it was after this fiasco.
