Alderney residents disgraced over social housing
Alderney's social housing has been branded as disgraceful by angry residents.
The vast majority of Alderney's social housing has suffered from a lack of investment for decades.
The problem is especially prevalent in Whitegates, where residents are forced to live in shabby properties which suffer from serious damp and electrical problems.
Investment in the properties is of paramount importance.
States members are well aware of the problem and have launched a Housing Association to tackle the issue. The States spent £100,000 on setting up the Association.
This week Aldernsey asked Guersney's States for £100,000 pounds to make up for that expenditure, but deputies refused to grant them the funds. (from CTV)
