Bowel Cancer Screening To Start Next Year


HSSD is going to pay for a bowel cancer screening programme to be introduced locally within a year…. It will spend fifty thousand pounds of its existing budget setting up the bowel cancer screening programme so it can start on the 1st October next year. It will then ask for additional funding at the next round of the States Strategic Plan debate so the programme can continue beyond 2012. «

So it seems that the C&L debate was just a poaching attempt.

This i fear is a campaign for the election for 2012,time will tell
the screening is already there for those who need it this is just to call folks in to have it down to see if they have anything wrong
it is not a nice procedure and i wonder how many will come forwards to have this down?
We have the smear test and the mammograms screenings now and these are good but not as painful at this screening.

I dont know what sort of screening they are planning Kat, but here in Australia everyone over 50 gets screened for it. It's quite painless, it's done at home by yourself, no pain what so ever. Unless they are doing a different screening it's a simple and easy test to complete and totally pain free.

That sounds like a better idea to the one we seem to have here .
hope this is the one they will choose .
does anyone on here know what the screening over here will be?
