New tough line with Condor

CONDOR Ferries could face harsh sanctions for future poor performance as part of a tough new approach to monitoring the service, Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean has said.
The Senator issued the warning in the States yesterday after a consumer survey carried out in Jersey and Guernsey last year revealed that Islanders have concerns over the Channel Islands’ ferry service.
Of the Jersey-based Islanders who completed the survey, 77 per cent said that fare prices were not justified by the level of service Condor provided.
Speaking after the sitting, Senator Maclean said: ‘Condor had a challenging year last year and like the public we were concerned about the public.
‘I am now satisfied that Condor has taken steps to improve its performance. However, it is important to state that we do have various weapons in our armoury, including sanctions, and these could be used if needed.’ (from BBC)

somebody needs to look at the extortionate prices they charge islanders to x

Condor have to make a profit, therefore the only way prices could come down would be for the States to subsidise all fares, not just vistor's.

you can travel cheaper to the islands and on a day trip to jersey from uk than we can ....think condor make plenty of profit..why not sell empty seats at a discounted price toislanders x
