Runway work will add to heavy lorries on the roads
ISLANDERS on the north and west coasts can expect to see and hear a minimum of 25 heavy lorries a day going to and from the airport development, if it gets the go ahead.
Airport director Colin Le Ray (pictured) said they would be working to minimise the impact.
‘We’ve done what we can to try and limit the impact,’ said Mr Le Ray, who added that site noise limits would be established and different construction methods would be found if levels were too high.
‘Most of the night work is limited to about seven months and the whole project is about two years long.’ (from GEP)

The work has to be done.the sooner they deal with it the better . we live on such a small island it is bound to upset a few .
but once done it should serve the island well.

I don't think it will affect you much Thistle. The runway extention is nearly three quarters of a mile away from your house and there are no site entrances over your side. So you should be OK. The Goldsmith place is going to be badly affected though.
