Runway work could disrupt bus services Empty Runway work could disrupt bus services

Passengers traveling from Guernsey Airport are being encouraged to arrive in good time for their scheduled departures in light of the current works taking place there.

Work has begun on the reconstruction of the concrete aprons areas, where people board or disembark the aircraft. This means that for a time some planes will be relocated to other areas of the airport which will require a bus service to transfer passengers to and from the departure or arrival gates.

Airport Director Colin Le Ray said: "Passengers need to leave themselves enough time to get through security and to the departure gate in good time in case a bus is required to take them out to their aircraft. It is a very quick transfer, but obviously getting everyone onto the bus does take some time. We would therefore ask everyone to pay attention to the minimum check-in time their airline advises."
