Exam row: Scrutiny order a review
SCHOOL exam results and the ‘culture of secrecy’ at the Education department will be reviewed by a Scrutiny panel.
Deputy Roy Le Hérissier says that his panel are about to launch a short review of the validity of the results published by the JEP last week – and the secretive nature of the department, which he says has been frustrating their attempts to carry out reviews for two years.
And he says that their review will come out at the same time as Education Minister James Reed’s promised ‘green paper’ on changing the way that the department works.
Last week the JEP revealed GCSE and A-level results for Jersey’s schools, after the Education department was forced to end its years of secrecy because of an application under the Freedom of Information code. (from JEP)
