Minister has interest in £750k rent deal

HEALTH minister Hunter Adam stands to benefit financially from taxpayers’ money being paid through a States’ contract which his department helps to negotiate.

Deputy Adam and his wife, Katherine, have shares in two property companies, from one of which, Vignon, the Medical Specialist Group leases its premises.

An independent report which found that the MSG did not provide value for money recently revealed that the consultant-only service paid around £750,000 in rent last year.

The former obstetrician said that his role as minister and as a shareholder in a company which received public funds did not represent a conflict of interests.

of course its a conflict of interest..x

This was already declared before as he has shares because he was a specialist doctor .they all have shares in the buildings .
this is just a slur against him to stop him for election next year.making the way clear for other clowns to get into power and the bullies to win yet again.

it is still a coflict of interest kat..the more rent that is paid the more money he will get...his wife has share too and she wasnt a specialist at msg as far as i am aware..

If people with a perceived 'interest' of any kind are barred from membership of the States you would be hard pushed to find enough competent people in your small community to fill all the post. You have to trust people not to take unfair advantage of their position.

they are allowed a conflict of interest ,but they have to declare it as he did
all this scandal is clearing the way for others to get a foot in the states

he is the minister of health and has shares in a company that receives rents from the MSG how can anyone say it isnt a conflict of interest. as for getting in next year alli can say is i hope he doesnt or we will be back to having to pay for operations etc etc .

did not think we paid for any operations .i have always had treatment free once i have gone to the specialist centre ,the only ops we would have to pay for is cosmetic surgery and some get this free somehow.
just glad i dont have to have any ops to find out
but al treatment i have had over the past few years i did not pay for ...thankfully!

that is true kat nobody pays for operations these days but that is only since the contract with MSG came into being. previous to that when there was no alexandria house and ruette braye motors was there specialists were part of your own medical group and practiced privately..we at that time paid for operations and full price for prescriptions to.

yes i remember that and if you did not have the money to pay you had a means test and if you could not afford it out of your income the states paid it on condition if you had a windfall of money you would repay them .
