From music and fun to arts and events; some suggestions of things to do in Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm over the next few months.

Events and attractions
The St Peter Port seafront will close for a number of Sundays through the summer, with stalls offering a taste of various local products (10 and 24 July, 7 and 14 August)

Exhibitions and arts
The Greenhouse gallery exhibits some of the dust covers designed for the many translations of the novel The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows (Thu 14 Apr - Thu 11 Aug)

To the Sweep of a Steel Bay is an exhibition celebrating the centenary of the birth of writer and artist Mervyn Peake. Sketches and portraits by the author of Gormenghast and The Story of Mr Pye can be seen at the Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery (Thu 5 May - Sun 11 Sep)
Crazy Ball Theatre Co will be performing "How Many Miles to Basra?" at the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts. Four British soldiers, a journalist and a translator set off on an unauthorised mission in an attempt to make amends for the deaths of some local men at a vehicle checkpoint. The play will be raising money for Help For Heroes (Wed 13 - Fri 15 July)
Guernsey British All Winners Drama Festival takes place, with four youth plays, nine one act plays and three full length plays competing to become the British All Winner. There will be workshops from the RSC and Chickenshed theatre companies (Sat 23 - Sat 30 July)
Outdoor
Walks, talks, lectures and workshops all form part of the Summer Floral Festival Week (Sat 9 July - Sun 17 July)

The Parish of Torteval will play host to more than sixty scarecrows as part of the parish's eighth Scarecrow Weekend. A trail is open from ten o'clock until five on both days, and starts at the Parish Church of St Philippe de Torteval. The Bailiff of Guernsey, Sir Geoffrey Rowland, and Lady Rowland will be judging the scarecrows (Sat 30 - Sun 31 July)
The ICC Europe Division One Championship sees 12 national cricket teams play 42 Twenty20 matches at eight venues in Guernsey and Jersey. Countries such as Germany, France and Israel will join the hosts in pursuing a place at the World Twenty20 Global Qualifier (Tue 19 - Sun 24 July)
CineGuernsey will be showing an outdoor screening of Roman Holiday at Candie Gardens. Viewers are encouraged to take a blanket and a picnic. Before the screening, there will be short films from the Guernsey Lily Film Festival (Sat 9 July)
Music
Guernsey's Greenman Motorcycle Club's 7th Chaos Music Festival is being held at Pleinmont. The event includes acts performing on three stages and a bike show and camping on the site is available, but only for over 18s (Fri 15 - Sun 17 July)

The Guernsey Symphonic Winds and the Guernsey Bach Choir will be performing at St James. Tickets start at £10 (Sat 16 July)
As part of 'Summer Music' at the Town Church, Susanna MacRae and Casey-Joe Rumens will be performing, accompanied by Bridget MacRae. The two singers will present a programme of well-known songs and duets by Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi, Hahn, Mendelssohn, Schumann and Barber among others (Mon 18 July)
There's free music and live entertainment on some Friday evenings at Castle Cornet (15, 22 and 29 July and 5 August)
The Town Centre Partnership are holding concerts in Candie Gardens from 1500-1600. A variety of local acts will be performing (Every Sunday until September) (from BBC)
