Friends rally to fundraise for family of Jersey crash victim

A FUNDRAISING evening to pay tribute to a man killed after a three-car road crash takes place this Saturday.

Father-of-one João Correia (35) died in intensive care at the Hospital on Sunday, nearly four months after the March crash outside the Trinity Post Office.

Friends of Mr Correia’s wife, Maria, and his two-year-old daughter, Matilde, have organised the night at St Thomas’ Church Hall to raise money to fly Mr Correia’s body back to Madeira for his funeral.

Mrs Correia wants to be able to fly her husband back to his place of birth because his 92-year-old mother cannot travel. (from JEP)
