Two weeks of major sewage works begin in Guernsey today (Sunday).

The refurbishment of the foul water system is taking place along Les Bas Courtils Road in St Sampson.

The road will be reduced to a single lane and Delancey Lane will close while the work takes place.

Guernsey Water say it's part of their ongoing project to renew the network.

The company's Director of Water Services, Andrew Redhead, said, "This project is part of our ongoing programme of refurbishment of the foul water system. Working with our contractors Geotrant, we will endeavour to minimise inconvenience to the public for the duration of the works."
