Channel Island ferry relocated to Poole until 28 March
Condor Ferries sailings will continue to be relocated to Poole until the end of March while work is carried out to repair a ferry berth in Weymouth.
Sailings from the Channel Islands will continue to Poole until 28 March.
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council have examined the structure of the berth and repair work will be carried out over the next month.
Condor Ferries hope to resume sailings from from Weymouth for the duration of the summer period.
Safety concerns
Services were relocated to Poole last week after mutual concerns were raised by the firm and the council regarding the structural integrity of part of the ferry berth in Weymouth Port.
Capt Fran Collins, operations director at Condor Ferries, said the firm's aim was to "minimise disruption to passengers and to offer as much advance notice as possible".
"Our customer services team are contacting all passengers to advise them of the change of port.
"The safety of our passengers and crew remains our highest priority, and we will be working closely with Weymouth and Portland Borough Council to monitor the repairs over the coming weeks.
"By continuing to operate regular services from Poole, while the work is carried out in Weymouth, we can continue to sustain our lifeline ferry services between the Channel Islands and the UK."
