Chris Green

GREEN; Christopher James Chris-Green-300x250My name is Chris Green. I will be a new candidate for People’s Deputy in the Castel Parish in 2012. Welcome to my website. I am a local, down-to-earth person, so if you would like to ask me a question about my policies, then feel free to email me.
I believe that what I am offering to the voters of the Castel is something very different to the norm: a fresh, modern, progressive approach to local issues. My campaign will focus on the issues that matter to ordinary working families. I am asking for your support so we can face the challenges of the 21st Century together.
It is time for a new generation of politicians to make a mark in local politics. With your support, lets start to make that a reality. I hope I can rely on your vote. I am here to serve the people of the Castel.

I am a Guernseyman, born and bred, aged 34. I am an Advocate by profession. I live in the Castel – at Vazon – with my partner Liz, who is a music teacher.

I was initially educated at St Martin’s Primary School and at the Guernsey Grammar School. I then studied for a degree in Law at the University of Exeter. I graduated with an Upper Second (2:1) degree in 1999. I was called to the English Bar in 2000, before returning home to Guernsey and becoming an Advocate in January 2002. I have been working as an Advocate for the last ten years. In that time, I have built up a substantial amount of Courtroom experience, particularly in criminal litigation.

6 Key Priorities

  1. To protect, enhance and diversify our strong economy.
  2. To reform our education system in line with the Mulkerrin review.
  3. To help make our social policy fit for the Twenty-First Century.
  4. To help create a “greener” Guernsey.
  5. To get tough on anti-social behaviour and crime.
  6. To create a more open system of government and enable greater accountability.
