Constable wants the "hole" truth
It cost £750,000 and caused weeks of traffic diversions and tailbacks.
But now resurfacing of the road leading to Jersey Airport is under fire.
One politician is questioning whether the repairs were really needed, and if the money could have been better spent elsewhere.
St John Constable Phil Rondel wants to know if the £750,000 airport road repairs were a waste of cash, as Transport and Technical Services admit the underlying structure was not as bad as they thought.
"I would have thought the engineers would have checked that prior to any work being started and therefore, if the condition of the road wasn't as bad as was found out, and additional money was saved, that money should have gone to repairing many of our other roads in the island - not something that is still in reasonable condition," he said.
Transport and Technical Services said the work was urgent because repairs had not been carried out for 23 years leaving the road full of pot holes and cracks.
Constable Rondel will question whether there are holes in the department's actions, in the States next week.
