Sir Jimmy Has Connections In Guernsey



Sir Jimmy Saville held assets in Guernsey.

His lawyers won't speak to us - but the confirmation of some links with
the island were in yesterday's Press in black and white.

Days after allegations of sexual assault were made against the late TV
and Radio presenter an advert has been placed in La Gazette Officielle
calling for anyone with claims on Sir Jimmy's estate to make themselves
known.

His estate is being handled by Ogiers and when we called the office we
were told no one would speak to us about any client - an email got the
same response.

The official notice comes almost a year after his death but the TV show
expected to add fuel to the fire about those allegations is due to air
tomorrow.

The time to make accusations about anybody is whilst they are still alive. These accusations against Saville were investigated a number of times, but no action was taken. So we must presume that any evidence available was inconclusive.

Sir Jimmy & Haut De La Garenne Claims

An allegation of sexual abuse against Sir Jimmy Savile was
made by someone connected with the former Jersey children's home, Haut
De La Garenne.

Jersey Police say the allegation was made in the 1970s but there wasn't enough evidence to press any charges though.

This has been confirmed following allegations of assault against the late TV and Radio presenter in recent days.

A number of women on the UK mainland have come forward to say Sir Jimmy
abused them as girls and teenagers, and a TV documentary on the
allegations is being screened tomorrow night.

Jersey Police confirmed the links between the late TV and Radio
presenter and the Historic Abuse Investigation with this short
statement:

“During the course of the States of Jersey Police’s historic abuse
investigation a complaint of indecent assault said to have occurred
during the 1970s at the former children’s home Haut de la Garenne was
received.

“The allegation was investigated but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.”

the fire is smoking a lot more now..even the family have taken his headstone down and are having it broken up and put into landfill..makes one wonder how much they know x

If I were to visit a hospital to-day and put my arm around a sick child to comfort them, I would be reported for inappropriate behaviour at best or even sexual abuse. It seems that most of the complaints are little more than this. A very dangerous game is being played out here against the reputation of someone who is unable to defend himself.

To-day's news that some 'victims' are intending to sue the BBC is probably the first indication of the true agenda of those who are spreading these complaints.

Nothing has yet been proved either way yet, but the man is already condemned as guilty. I find it difficult to believe that, with our exessively intrusive press, that such a large degree of mis-behaviour would not have been exposed at the time it was supposed to been happening. Gary Glitter being one case in example.

There are plenty of people who worked with him who new something dodgy was going on, these people dont have a 'true agenda'. Saville was a paedophile pure and simple.

Exactly my point, the press would have had a field day with what these people were hinting, if it could have been shown to be true.

Until it is proved your last comment would be actionable libel if he were still alive.

I did not particularly like him, although I admire his charitable work, however I don't like to see anybody being crucified by hear-say and gossip.

kingcole if it is only hearsay and gossip why would the family have his gravestone broken up..surely they would have had it stored for re erecting after everything had dies down.

I agree with thistle .by his families reaction there is more to this . they know something or were also victims of his abuse .

Or maybe his relations dont want it known where he is burried so that vigilanties cannot go and desicrate his resting place.

I absolutely detest child molesters and want to see them get what they deserve. That said Jimmy is not here to defend himself against these accusations as is the right of anyone accused of a crime.

I dont understand why these people did'nt come forward until after his death, and a year after too. Did they have some sort of greivance against him when he was alive and the only way to get back at him is to blacken his name now that he's no longer with us?

As Kingcole said, if he were still alive he would have grounds to sue for defamation, is this the true reason why they have waited until after his death to make their statements?

could it be as with many abused children that they were frightened to speak out until after the death of their abuser...jimmy saville was a very powerful man and who is to know what threats were made against these people x

Now that is a very good comment Thistle. Its well known that abusers use threats against their victims.
Its just a shame that this was'nt bought to light before his death as this way he's getting hung out to dry without a trial.

Obviously none of us can possibly know the truth or otherwise of these allegations and, now he is beyond being questioned, I don't suppose we will ever know for sure.

I suppose the truth could lie anywhere between the extremes now being bandied around in the media.

The sticking point for me is that I find it impossible to believe that improper behaviour on the scale now being alleged, over such a long period of time could have escaped the attentions of the intrusive media for so long. If they can find out what Gary Glitter was up to in the far East, I'm sure they know everything that goes on in the UK.

The abused were probably too scared to say anything.and some were so young to realise they were being abused until later in life .
many of them would have not said anything as they thought they were on their own and no one would believe that a man who did so much good could do a thing like this and who would believe them anyway
once one stood up and said about it ,other would also make a stand
There has been many men that have gone to their grave knowing they were an abuser ,and has got away with it in life.
I also believe the family know more than they are prepared to say .
but good on them for removing his gravestone . this will bring back a bit of respect to the resting place of so many.

I'm sorry Kat that might be true for a few, but the allegations are now said to cover a period of 60 years ! Do you really believe that anyone could have got away undetected with that ?

i firmly believe it to..i know of at least one who went to his grave who was a seriel abuser.kat is right children dont know that what is being done to them is wrong but they are too frightened to speak up about it.even as adults some people never ever talk about it...
