Drivers beware
Car owners in Guernsey are being warned to be vigilant after someone deliberately immobilised the brakes of a vehicle.
Police say pliers or side-cutters were used to sever the hydraulic brake line of a Suzuki jeep parked at the Vazon coastal car park.
The jeep, which was advertised for sale, was sabotaged at sometime between about 3pm on Friday the 22nd of March and 8pm the following Monday. Brake fluid escaped, causing total failure.
Police say the damage could clearly have had very serious implications to the driver of the jeep or other road users.
There is a police request for information. Meanwhile they are warning the owners of other vehicles parked in the area to check the brakes before setting off.
