Re: Night Life For Teenagers Through the Years
At 16 I was busy as I had my motorbike and played sports, mainly skating & Roller Hockey! Too spotty for girls then.... lol!
Part of the problem these days seems to be that youngsters get too much too soon. We did not have the expectations for material possessions that seem to be the norm now. I base this on my own 'young adults' expectations and wants....

Wait till your a parent and then you will understand the no scooter, and where are you going. You are lucky to have parents that care, some parents don't give a hoot. So make the most of it.Guernseyguy07 wrote:I Agree.

Re: Night Life For Teenagers Through the Years
Yes indeed!!! guilty as charged!!!! In my defence I was born just after the war and had nothing (there was nothing to be had) by the time I had children I wanted them to have what I hadn't and my husband was the same....fair enough - but then came TV with commercials telling them that they must have it all otherwise they wouldn't be in with the in crowd!!! and put on before school with silly phrases like only £99.99 - I told my kids that their dad earned £??.?? per hour and that would take him so long to earn that sort of money, taking into account the food, mortgage etc etc....they hated it - but now my daughter does the same to her son......I just stand there sillently giggling!!!! so some of the blame is ours but a little bit must go to commercialism.....what says you????

Re: Night Life For Teenagers Through the Years
Looking out of my lounge window - the past (where of course each day was filled with fun and sunshine ) seems like a good place to be!!! but listening to the Melbourne news again this morning where the death toll is now 140 and still counting - I'll shut up about the weather and make another cup of coffee......
Yes GG thanks for pointing us down memory lane :-)))

Re: Night Life For Teenagers Through the Years
......so did we - but in London we got a week in February and October for Half Term - 1 week for Easter 2 weeks for Christmas and 9 weeks in the Summer!!!!! drinking wasn't an option in those days - you were not allowed and you obeyed your parents (in the main 8) ) my parents were great they always considered holiday time as a 'brain recharging time' and we picnicked or went walking - nature trails etc etc in the Summer we got up, had a BIG breakfast then went on the beach with a biscuit tin full of fresh baked Guernsey Biscuits with Pommiers Pate and a greenhouse full of tomatoes.....YUM!!! (it's a wonder we didn't get food poisoning, as cool boxes were unheard of LOL) - I was lucky I spent every holiday in Guernsey)

Re: Night Life For Teenagers Through the Years
Hello everybody ,Im 18 and partying in Guyernsey is Crazzzzzyyyy . Now in 21 century 2010 its a whole different story . Little boys age 7 are asking for cigarette next to the St Peter Port church .Girls with babys are sitting there on a bench and drinking Booze. They must have responsibility having a child. But thats the bed story .
Best story are people who are free and do what they want to do ..Clubs are amzing full with young and old people. Having fun and chilling.. Best club Folies..!!!
I love Guernsey cause its small Iland .You can meet all the time friends in town its like every day is a Party .Jealous of those who can live there , cause im just a newcomer. And Gy rule do not allow newcomer to stay forever.:(
