Lucky islanders will become a whole lot richer tonight as the Jersey Hopsice Care Million Pound Lottery is drawn.

The top prize is a cool million, with nine other prizes given ticket holders a one in 600 chance of scooping at least 10,000.


6,000 tickets were sold at £300 each with a total of £1,300,000 in prize money is waiting to be won, with £1 million as first prize, followed by £100,000, £75,000, £50,000, £25,000 and five prizes of £10,000.

This year's numbers will be drawn by former British Formula One racing driver and Jersey businessman Derek Warwick, Miss Battle, 18 year old Sarah Watson, Channel swimmer and Jersey to France record holder (ladies swimming) Alison Horsfall and Mike Hannighan who won the prize in a charity auction.

Jersey Hospice Cares Chairman, Dr Gari Purcell-Jones said: "Once again the Million Pound Lottery has sold out and islanders have helped raise £500,000 for Jersey Hospice Care. We are so very grateful to everyone who has bought a ticket , thank you.

"May we wish everyone the best of luck and we hope as many people as possible can come down to the Grand Jersey this Friday to join in the fun. Our thanks also extend to all the businesses and volunteers who've been involved in selling the tickets, organising the evening event and decorating the terrace We couldnt do it without them."

The £1m top prize has been won by a syndicate of ten relationship managers from RBS Coutts Bank.

The syndicate members are Jo Smyrk, Liz North, Daniel Barry, Tim Lane, Claire O'Hara, Craig Neilson, Laura Tibbatts, Peter Hall, Emma Wright and Simon Burrows.
