Cage fighting and Sky TV cameras come to Jersey

CAGE fighting is coming to Jersey for the first time next month, in a series of bouts that will be filmed by a Sky sports channel.

Fighters will battle it out in an octagon-shaped enclosure at Fort Regent using mixed martial arts – a multi-discipline fighting technique.

The event, Heavy Metal Thunder, follows on from the first Rumble on the Rock event held in Jersey last October, when fighters locked horns inside a boxing-style ring.

Michael Cañas is director of Rumble on the Rock and is hoping hundreds of Islanders will turn out to cheer on the fighters on 7 May.=
