Cameras have been used in the UK for more than 20 years and have been hailed as one of the main reasons for the reduction of deaths on Britain’s roads.
Although the States police have used mobile cameras on a manual basis for many years, Jersey law currently prevents the use of automatic fixed cameras.
But following calls from concerned St Peter residents to introduce cameras at the filter-in-turn at Beaumont, Deputy Kristina Moore says she is in the very early stages of making inquiries into possible law change.
