Gas prices to rise as well

GUERNSEY GAS prices are going up again.

The announcement followed news that Guernsey Electricity would be seeking further tariff increases to help fund its capital programme.

Age Concern vice-chairman Roy Trustum said yesterday that unless the old age pension kept pace with the cost of living, elderly islanders would struggle to pay rising energy bills – and would sacrifice heating to pay for food.

From 1 August, all Guernsey Gas prices will increase by 0.8p a unit or 5.6p a litre. (from GEP)
