Home from home in Alderney

Alderney has opened the door to campers who like to holiday with all the creature comforts.

A change in the law means visitors can now arrive with a campervan, a caravan and even a mobile home.

Would-be caravanners have to apply for a government permit, but permission will normally given for a limited number of vehicles to park at the Saye camping site.

There is a limit on the length of vehicles and visitors will only be able to drive them from the harbour to Saye and back.

The relaxation of the law comes following a £150,000 States upgrade of the campsite.
