Guernsey Electricity Makes £4.7 Million

Guernsey Electricity made £4.7 million profit in the last financial year.

But the company says that's just not enough.

The local utility provider has released its annual report for the last
year up until the 31st March 2012.

Guernsey Electricity has announced an operating profit of £4.7 million
for the last year - but looking back across 10 years, that only works
out at £1.7 million as profit.

Managing Director Alan Bates says that simply is not enough to sustain
necessary improvement to the network.

how long before the next price rise...maybe its time for consumers to band together and say enough is enough ..no more rises until the recession is over xx

About time they gave the elderly an cheaper rate if they life alone .this would save them from freezing in winter time

i agree kat, when i think my mum, was here in the occupation and suffered for years eating seaweed soup for dinner and tea, and now as an old lady she cannot get help with dentist bills etc and in the winter has to think about food or heat its disgusting that they are making this amount of money from the elderly, a lot of which these elderly people saved their backsides from the germans 50 odd years ago!

It is disgusting the elderly should be on a lower tarriff,if they are living with out a family . or even free electric .

its going to be bad for elderly people this winter..people were already having to choose between food or heat last year..guernsey electricity should be ashamed of themselves..
