Forest Primary School
I have very fond memories of going to this school - along with my brother and sister, and now my own kids.
I was in J4 (now known as Year 6) when we ran the 'Save Forest School' campaign. It saved the old building for a little while at least. Looks even more impressive now though.
I remember the headmaster Mr Crocker, and other teachers:
Mr Rees
Mrs Vance
Mrs Le Boutillier
Mr Leale
Mrs Miller
Mrs Ingrouille
Mrs Robilliard (Nurse)
Mr Le Messurier
Mr Le Feuvre (Lollipop Man)
I also remember the Fete which the school became famous for - especially the Elephant!
Next year is the 10th Anniversary of the new school and they are going to base it around the history of the Elephant. Anyone remember where / when it came from?
I am told that it used to belong to the Zoo and the school borrowed it. When the Zoo went bust, the school kept it and it has been run ever since. Anyone know if that is true?
I am still involved with all the rides - many of which will be renewed for next year. I have been looking after them for the last few years and put a new engine in the Elephant for this year's Fete.
Any more stories?
