Motorcyclist Killed
A motorcyclist has been killed in a road accident in Guernsey.
The dead man has been named as Ben Owen Davies (25) of Route de Longfrie, St Pierre du Bois.
The accident happened in Route de Plaisance, St Peter's at 5.45 yesterday (Friday) afternoon. Mr Davies' Honda bike was in collision with a silver-coloured Mini Cooper. Both vehicles had been heading towards St Peter's Village.
When paramedics reached the scene Mr Davies was not breathing. Despite efforts to revive him by members of the public at the scene and paramedics, he was later pronounced dead at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital. Taken from www.channelonline.tv
I knew this was going to be serious when the services had the blues and twos on leaving the scene (I live fairly close)
There are far too many people getting killed on motorcycles over here. As much as I have enjoyed over twenty years without ever crashing, incidents like this really puts me off ever letting my kids have a bike. Even if they are sensible, it only takes one person to stick the nose of their car too far out of their drive to knock someone off.
And people talk about raising the speed limit over here? This kind of puts things into perspective for me.

Re: Motorcyclist Killed
This makes me never want to ride again, really. He was a friend of my brother and i just cannot put into words how he is feeling.
It's such a sad tragedy...i don't think the limit should be raised at all! I complain at "how slow" this island is but when you think about it...it's actually not all that bad! Ugh...such a short life :(
