Green Composting
A Jersey politician wants all open-air composting at La Collette to be stopped.
Deputy Gerard Baudains says it causes unpleaseant smells that irritate people living nearby.
It isn't he's asked the Transport and Technical Services Minister to put a stop to outdoor composting at the site.
He put forward a proposition 2 years ago - but withdrew it after Deputy Guy de Faye gave his assurance that he was looking to move the operation to the countryside.
Deputy Baudains says since then nothing has been done and the problem has got worse.
He says islanders living between Snow Hill and La Mare car park are particularly affected.
Deputy Baudains wants politicians to vote to stop the composting within a fortnight of his proposal being debated. (from channel103)
