Double decker option for island
Double decker buses could be re-introduced in Jersey to take passengers to and from the airport.
Overcrowded buses and passengers travelling with suitcases have prompted bus operator Connex to look at increasing the size of buses.
Transport Minister Guy de Faye said specially adapted buses would be needed for the island's roads.
He said it was one possible solution being considered, but there were issues to overcome.
You can't just magic double decker buses out of nowhere
"We accept that some elements of the service are not ideal," Mr de Faye told BBC News.
"Unfortunately you can't just magic double decker buses out of nowhere.
"They're in quite heavy demand and not easy to come by - particularly in the sort of size we need over here."
Mr de Faye also said the number of passengers using buses in Jersey generated more revenue in August than at any other time since the service was taken over by Connex six years ago.
Figures from the company showed the number of people using the Island Explorer services to island tourist attractions had increased by 27% on the same period last year.
