Service solves the problem of firms that do not ship to the islands
SHOPPING could soon be made easier for islanders, thanks to Jersey Post.
This summer the company will launch Ship2me, a service that will provide islanders with the opportunity to receive goods from companies which have previously not delivered to Guernsey.
Under the scheme, residents and business communities in the Channel Islands will be able to buy from retail outlets and online retailers in the UK and elsewhere in the EU using Ship2me’s UK warehouse as the delivery address.
From there items will be delivered to a customer’s address - normally within three working days - with telephone or email notification of delivery.
An easy route for reclaiming VAT will also be available.
Managing director of Jersey Post Group’s new Enterprise Division, Gary Whipp, said the new service would give Channel Islanders the same retail opportunities as those enjoyed by consumers on the British mainland and on the Continent.
‘Ship2me will open up outlets not previously accessible to islanders by offering an affordable and reliable delivery service. The beauty of the service is that it is specifically designed to deliver a whole variety of items from a pair of shoes to a three-piece suite at very affordable prices,’ he said. Sounds good to me...

Thats great for a pair of shoes that you have not tried on then you pay postage, then you have to claim back the VAT, then they dont fit so you have to pay to send them back, repay the VAT. and its cost you 2 lots of postage for nothing.
It will be interesting to see the costs.

First thought was what a good idea, why hadn't anyone thought of it before? I will watch it with interest as I have often been frustrated by firms not shipping to Channel Islands!
