UK approves wording for smoke ban
A ban on smoking in Alderney has finally moved closer after the Privy Council in the UK approved the necessary legislation.
Alderney States originally agreed to ban smoking two years ago, but the Ministry of Justice has had problems with the wording of the legislation.
States' spokesman Richard Willmott said there had now been a positive outcome to the stalemate.
The States will now have to consider how and where to implement the ban.
