Apology from the consumer council
The Jersey Consumer Council has apologised for an item in its newsletter advising people to buy cars online or in the UK to save money. The key to the issue seems to be that the Council did not use proper like-for- like data in making its comparisons. The Motor Trades Federation complained at the original piece pointing out that online and UK purchased cars may not carry the same warranty and after sales support as locally purchased vehicles.
