Island Spirit ready for unveiling

A massive glass sculpture is being unveiled in Guernsey this week.

The 14-metre high 'Island Spirit' is in the courtyard of a new health wing at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.

The sculpture will be uncovered at Wednesday's Open Day when islanders can take a close-up look at new clinics which have been built at the hospital.

Other specially-commissioned artwork will also be on display for the first time.

The tendering process for the health wing was controversial and led to the resignation of Guernsey's Policy Council. (from CTV)
