Free buses for a week
Buses in Guernsey will be free to use for a whole week.
You didn't read that wrong - it's down to a changeover from the old multi-journey cards to the new Ormer cards, which go on sale on Tuesday.
The week of free travel begins on February 28th, after which the old cards can't be used.
The Ormer cards will go on sale on February 16th and be available at the Town Terminus, Sir Charles Frossard House, Tourist Information, Beau Sejour and from the Vehicle Registration and Licensing Office at Bulwer Avenue.

Re: Free buses for a week
Use of the word FREE in this context is debatable as the taxpayer subsidises the service.More pertinent is why do we need the Ormer/Oyster system? and at what cost? As we have an "International Airport" will we now have an International bus service.More Gold Plating ?

Re: Free buses for a week
Bet the roads are no less busy in the mornings that week, proving that peeps will not get out their cars if it costs them an extra few pennys in fuel..
The only way to discourage peeps going to town and back is paid parking..
