Funky Puffin owner Andrew Scott-Miller: ‘Our entire business plan has been wiped out’

A GROWING new business selling eco-friendly surf wax from Jersey say that the postal price increase announced yesterday could effectively close them down.
Award-winning business Funky Puffin say that after three years of making the wax for surfboards and selling it around the world, they may have to shut down just as they were getting ready for a big expansion.
Owner Andrew Scott-Miller says that they have no option but to stop making wax here because the price of sending it away has gone from 42p to £1.30 under Jersey Post’s size-based pricing.
When the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority announced that they had approved the price increase yesterday, they said that average prices would go up by 2% from 8 May and that large but light items would go up by 27%.
But Mr Scott-Miller said: ‘It’s a sad day for Funky Puffin. Our entire business plan has been wiped out, just when we were embarking on a major expansion plan to take a small Jersey business international (from JEP)

Such a shame a small enterprise like this will suffer..
