Glen launches his own kerbside recycling
A MAN is setting up a kerbside recycling business and the Public Services Department has given its backing.
Delivery driver Glen Cooney (pictured) said he was fed up with States indecision over a waste strategy and decided to take matters into his own hands.
He is offering to pick up recyclables from homes and businesses once a fortnight for a £12 monthly fee.
‘A lot of people have talked about kerbside recycling, but it never came about.
‘I think a lot of people who recycle already and take it themselves will do it because it’s a service that will come to them,’ he said.
Deputy Public Services minister Scott Ogier said the department would support any private initiative that could help increase the island’s recycling rates. (from thisisguernsey)
