Neighbours happy as football ground plans get a red card
Rangers FC plans to appeal after its bid to turn this St Andrew’s field into its home ground was rejected. (0961152)
LES VAUXBELETS residents have welcomed news of the rejection of a planning application to build a football ground.
Rangers Football Club criticised the decision last week and said it planned to appeal after planners refused it permission to develop a field behind Bob Froome’s St Andrew’s premises, next to Blanchelande Girls’ College, as its home pitch.
The club has appealed to St Andrew’s parishioners to get behind the application.
But neighbours spoken to at the weekend said they were pleased with the decision because the area was quiet and the plans were too big for the site.
Martin Henry, 50, has lived in the area throughout his life and said he was not opposed to the club using the site as its base. However, he was against the final plans it submitted to the Environment Department. (from thisisguernsey)
Its a shame that a football club like this cannot get permission, feel sorry for the members and thier supporters...
Re: Neighbours happy as football ground plans get a red card
Rangers have been trying to get a home pitch for something like 25 years and have been turned down several times which is a shame.
