Aquasplash losing money
The States need to find three hundred and seventy thousand pounds for the Aquasplash swimming pool by 2009.
That's what the Education, Sports and Culture Minister told a Scrutiny meeting yesterday.
The Waterfront swimming pool is managed by Cerco.
But they have a contract with our government stating that any loss over fifty thousand pounds must be covered with tax payers money.
Deputy Deidre Mez-bor-ian chaired the public hearing.
She says most commercial swimming pools make a loss. (from channel 103)
But prehaps its time that the contract was reveiwed anyone can show a loss if they want to...

Are you on the right planet? I don't know of many state run projects that ever make money, if they ran this instead of sub-contract the loss would be even bigger!

If that is what the Dep. said and thinks, she needs to stop being involved in the issue, as she hasn't got a clue.
If they knew it would be making this sort of a loss they should never have built it, if this is normal and they didn't know, they were negligent in their planning.
Most commercial pools do NOT make a loss, it's the non-commercial, publicly run pools that often make a loss.
The fact that the design and operation of the pool is so bad, should've been obvious in the planning stage, this is purely down to WEB's poor management.
