Motor trade giving fair deal to consumers, says JCRA
The Jacksons and Motor Mall group provide half of all new cars sold in Jersey
ISLANDERS are not being ripped off when it comes to buying a new car despite one dealership dominating the market, a report has found.
The review by the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority found that one dealership – the Jacksons and Motor Mall group – was supplying half of all new cars in the Island.
But, it said, there was no evidence of any dealership abusing their position within the market and the industry was largely working as it should.
It also said that while new cars were more expensive than in the UK, this could be explained by the higher delivery charges and running costs for local dealerships. (from JEP)
