Call for referendum on Senators
The electorate could have the final word on plans to reduce the number of Senators in Jersey.
Senator Freddie Cohen is proposing a simple yes or no to the question 'do you agree that the number of Sentors should be reduced from 12 to 8?.
Last year the States approved a nine-year reform plan which will see the number of islandwide representatives cut.
Senator Cohen says that decision should be made by the electorate, not the States Assembly alone.
