Show director Julie Settle at the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity with Martin Mitchell, of Valley Foods, Roisin Cowham of Jersey Camper Hire and Chris Settle of Perception Kayaks

HOT-air balloon rides, abseiling walls and clay pigeon shoots will all feature at the inaugural JEP Outdoor Show in May.
The three-day show will bring favourite hobbies, sports and outdoor activities to the Royal Showground in Trinity.
Show director Julie Settle, who organises the annual JEP Homelife Show, is aiming to capture the spirit of the old Sport For All days and agricultural shows held in the 1990s.
‘In Jersey we have such an outdoor culture and I wanted to bring lots of sports and hobbies together,’ she said. ‘Everybody does something outside, from enjoying a walk on the beach, to gardening and surfing. And all sports clubs will be able to exhibit at the show for free, with commercial businesses paying to have a stand.’
‘We will be encouraging all kinds of activities, including sports like volleyball or softball, which don’t often have a chance to showcase their attractions to a wide audience.’
More extreme sports will also be featured at the event, which is being held from Friday 13 May to Sunday 15 May, such as hot-air balloon rides, kayaking and surfing.
l Any sports clubs, associations or businesses wishing to be involved can contact Mrs Settle on 07797 740913.
