BBC 2 puts spotlight on Island’s ice age history
JERSEY’S internationally important Neanderthal archaeology sites will feature in a major television series tonight.
The BBC 2 show Digging for Britain, presented by Dr Alice Roberts, follows archaeological digs up and down Britain and will show survey work that was carried out in Jersey earlier this year.
UK archaeologists, assisted by Jersey Heritage and the Société Jersiaise, have been working across several sites in Jersey over the past few years to discover how Neanderthal man responded to climate change and shifting sea levels.
The programme begins at 9 pm
