Petrol prices are soaring
With petrol and diesel prices soaring, the Jersey Consumer Council is advising islanders to shop around.
Their latest survey shows the difference between the most and least expensive is 18p a litre.
Consumer Council chairman, Senator Alan Breckon, says it is "dark times" for motorists in Jersey.
"Petrol prices have been rising steadily over the past year and have reached the inevitable record high. This is only the average, but at some garages in Jersey motorists will be paying up to £5.74 a gallon (126.39 per litre)."
The average price of fuel stands at nearly £1.20 per litre (£5.46 per gallon).
Petrol prices have gone up an average of almost 14p a litre since May last year and will jump again on Wednesday when GST rises from 3% to 5%. (from CTV)
