Alderney States approves jubilee holidays

Alderney will celebrate an additional public holiday to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
Politicians approved 5 June as the extra day at their States meeting on 16 November.
The bank holiday at the end of May will be moved to 4 June, giving residents two consecutive celebration days.
John Beaman, the chairman of Alderney's Policy and Finance Committee, said the changes would bring the island in line with England, Wales and Guernsey
