Guernsey Airport to close tonight

Guernsey airport is preparing for the first two-day closure, so work redeveloping the airfield can be carried out.

When it shuts tonight, it will stay closed until Thursday morning.

Most of the project is being done at night, but some work, like the reconstruction of concrete aprons, has to be done during the day.

After this week, there will be three more two-day closures, later this year.

Eerily quiet without the morning planes waking me up today!!

thought the same thing dell..so far not much noise on the runway..hope it stays that way lol

When this improvement is complete maybe the States will stop being stingy and purchase a push-back unit, so that the aprons can be used properly.

They have been practising over last few weeks, including today, and Nose-in Push Back will be effective from this Thursday kingcolemk

At Isle of Man airport and Jersey airport has had trainers at Guernsey, Spirit.
