Serious offenders keep to right side of law
Serious offenders in Jersey are staying out of trouble following release from prison.
Last year a group was set up to manage offenders and 71 people were listed. Only four went on to re-offend and they were minor offences.
The group was formed following introduction of the Sex Offenders (Jersey) Law to manage sexual, violent or dangerous offenders, together with potentially dangerous people.
The work of the group has already been reviewed and recommendations made have been accepted and are being introduced.
Chairman Mike Cutland said the first year had been incredibly successful.
He said: "Of course, the risk of someone re-offending cannot be completely eliminated, but by working together with partner agencies we hope to manage any risk that someone poses."
