Guernsey parishes open nominations for 43 posts
Nominations have opened for a total of 43 parish official posts across Guernsey.
The posts include douzenier, constable and procureur of the poor in the island's 10 parishes.
Nominations have to be made by 16:00 BST on Monday, 24 October with elections, if needed, taking place on Wednesday, 2 November.
Positions on school committees and cemetery committees are also to be decided at the same time.
Open positions
Castel - A constable, three douzeniers and six school committee members
Forest - A constable, three douzeniers and a procureur of the poor
St Andrew - A constable, three douzeniers and five school committee members
St Martin - Three douzeniers
St Peter Port - Five douzeniers and a procureur of the poor
St Pierre du Bois - A constable and three douzeniers
St Sampson - Five douzeniers and a cemetery committee member
St Saviour - A constable, three douzeniers and a school committee member
Torteval - A constable and three douzeniers
Vale - A constable, four douzeniers, a school committee member and three cemetery committee members

Very surprised that cemetery committee have to be elected like this .why are they not chosen from with in the douziane ?
And 6 school committee members for the Castel and 5 for St Andrews ?
how many schools have the got in their parish?
