ROBERTS GARAGES FUEL FOR SCHOOLS
Tyres, exhausts, car servicing, repairs and fuel, are all the normal things that you’d expect to be able to find at your local Roberts Garage. Well now when you fill up your tank with fuel you can also support Island schools
Monday 23 April sees local fuel suppliers Roberts Garages, Jersey, launch a community based campaign, ‘Fuel for Schools’, which will enable participating primary schools in the island to raise money, for anything from class projects or trips to books and supplies, by collecting stickers which, at the end of the promotion, can be exchanged for cash.
So how does it work?
Friends, family members, colleagues, and anyone who has a link with the participating schools will be invited to visit any one of the three Roberts Garages forecourts, where for every twenty pounds of fuel purchased they will receive a sticker. The stickers can then be attached to a Roberts Garages collection card, available from all participating schools and the three Roberts Garages sites, each card is worth £1. Once the cards are full they need to be placed in a collection bin at any of the three Roberts Garages, Springfield, Bel Royal or Greve D’Azette, and Roberts will convert those collection cards to cash at the end of the promotion.
Tracy McCaughan, Managing Director of Roberts Garages explained “We here at Roberts Garages know there is a strong desire within the local community to support our schools and we want to help in any way we can. The ‘Fuel for
Schools’ campaign enables everyone to benefit. The beauty of ‘Fuel for Schools’ is that when each card is completed it becomes real cash for that school. All of this and customers can still save 9.5p a litre on their fuel purchases if they have, or want to get one of our Roberts Garages discount cards. There are no losers! ”
Schools will be able to keep up to date with how much money they can expect to receive at the end of the promotion by keeping an eye on the ‘Fuel for Schools’ totalizer, which will be available to view online at www.robertsgarage.com. (from Islenews)
